Meet Your Future Career

As a future Freight or Commodity Analyst, you’ll learn to look beyond the numbers, connect developments across global markets and turn complex data into forward-looking insights that support commercial decisions across Oldendorff.

What You'll Experience

Through rotations across different areas of Research and Oldendorff offices around the world, you’ll explore the dry bulk shipping and commodities markets from different perspectives.

Guided by experienced analysts, you’ll take on challenging assignments, develop your analytical and commercial understanding, and learn how market intelligence supports decisions across the business.

By the end of the program, you’ll have gained a broad understanding of the dry bulk market and deeper insight into the dynamics connecting different vessel sizes, commodities and global trade.

What You'll Do

You’ll analyse freight markets, commodities and global trade flows to understand what is happening and why.

Working with large datasets, you’ll learn to connect developments in economics, international trade, politics and the natural environment. You’ll turn complex information into clear, forward-looking insights that support Oldendorff’s commercial teams and help the business navigate changing market conditions.

After completing the program, you’ll begin your career in the Research Department as a Freight or Commodity Analyst.

Requirements

  • You are in the final year of a degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Business or a related field, or you graduated within the past two years
  • You have a strong academic record
  • You are proficient in written and spoken English
  • You demonstrate strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • You show initiative and are comfortable working independently
  • You are a positive and motivated team player

Previous experience in research, dry bulk shipping, commodities or another commercial environment is an advantage, but not a requirement. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience in extracurricular leadership roles are also considered advantages.
