Become part of Oldendorff's Operations team
Applications for the 2027 Singapore Operations Trainee Program are now open
Build the foundation for a career in international shipping.
Based in one of the world’s leading maritime hubs, you’ll discover how vessels, cargoes, ports and people connect across global trade.
With a strong focus on Operations, you’ll develop the practical knowledge, commercial understanding and confidence to grow into a shipping professional.
Over two years, you’ll explore different areas of the dry bulk shipping business through hands-on rotations, practical assignments and close collaboration with experienced colleagues.
Operations will form the core of your development, complemented by experience across other commercial and operational departments. You’ll also have opportunities to visit vessels, gain exposure to life at sea and connect with colleagues across Oldendorff’s international network.
By the end of the program, you’ll understand how the different parts of shipping work together and have built a strong foundation for your future career.

Please note: The program structure and rotation schedule are indicative and may change depending on business requirements, training capacity and available learning opportunities.
You’ll learn how vessels are operated, how cargoes move around the world and how commercial and operational decisions keep global trade moving.
Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll contribute to day-to-day business, communicate with teams and partners across the industry and help find practical solutions when plans change.
As your experience grows, you’ll take on more responsibility, develop your commercial awareness and learn to make decisions in a fast-moving international environment.
You’re curious about international shipping and motivated to learn how the industry works in practice.
You enjoy solving problems, taking responsibility and working with people from different backgrounds. You’re ready to contribute, open to feedback and comfortable adapting when situations change.
You don’t need previous shipping experience. What matters is your motivation, learning ability and willingness to get involved.
Applications for the August 2027 Singapore Operations Trainee Program intake are open until 28 February 2027.
Our selection process may include online assessments, interviews and selection activities, giving you the opportunity to showcase your motivation, strengths and potential for a career in international shipping.
At the same time, you’ll get to know Oldendorff, the program and the people behind the business before the final decision is made.
If you’re curious about international trade, ready to learn by doing and excited to begin your career in Singapore’s maritime industry, we would like to hear from you.
