OLDENDORFF CARRIERS places ultramax newbuilding order at Japan Marine United (JMU)

We are pleased to announce our first newbuilding order in Japan in over 10 years. The order consist of two 61,500 deadweight eco ultramax bulkers at Japan Marine United. The vessels will be constructed under the supervision of Nippon Kaiji Kyokai and are scheduled for delivery second half 2014. In addition to the excellent hull lines and Wärtsilä-Sulzer engine the units will be equipped with modern fuel saving devices making them very economical. The specifications will also include extra tank top strength of 22.4-26 mts per m², A-60 bulk head, CO2 fitting and smoke detection in holds.
