Double Happiness at NACKS

26th May 2014

It was a warm but windy day in Nantong, when two charming sponsors performed a double namegiving ceremony for our first two NACKS Ultramax 61,000 tdw newbuildings.

Hull # 153 was christened "Julia Oldendorff" on 28th April 2014 by Mrs. Kristin Roseth, wife of Ole Martin Roseth, partner of Atlantica Shipping A/S, Oslo and left the yard two days later. Her sister, hull # 154 was named "Johann Oldendorff" by Mrs. Claudia Black, HR manager at Oldendorff Carrier's German headquarter. Claudia was drawn by a lottery amongst our female employees worldwide, to perform this important duty. It was a memorable day for OLDENDORFF CARRIERS and we were reminded of the fact, that our last namegiving ceremonies were performed as long as 10 years ago by the owner's daughters Lucy (naming Panamax "Ingrid Oldendorff" at Jiangnan in China) and Linda (naming Handysize "Albert Oldendorff" at Saiki in Japan). We wish our new vessels double happiness with the double meaning slogan for "many happy returns".
