Technical Superintendent (m/f/d) Third Party Management

Job description:

  • Supervision and co-ordination of various Third Party Managers
  • Negotiating and controlling of OPEX, dry docking and any other technical related budgets
  • Assessing and granting approvals on work suggestions by Third Party Managers
  • Regular vessel inspections and follow up preparation of survey reports
  • Ensuring and supervising regular vessel inspections performed by external parties
  • Close monitoring of identified deficiencies and coordination of rectification plans with Third Party Managers
  • Evaluting and if necessary advising on dry-docking descriptions, analysing and co-ordinating shipyard quotes
  • Supervising dry-dockings in close co-operation with Third Party Managers
  • Assisting on take over of vessels from selling parties
  • Advising inhouse operation and commercial teams on technical related issues on board of vessels
  • Supervision of stock held on board for spare parts, equipment, tools and lubricants
  • Co-ordinate any technical measures with team members operating same/similar ships in inhouse managment
  • Supporting all other office departments in their service tasks in particular registration; legal/insurance, IT-Fleet (incl. FMS), controlling, accounting, treasury
  • Motivation and assistance to shipboard management and assessment of vessel reporting in order to provide support where necessary
  • Following up warranty claims for new-buildings with Third Party Managers
  • Regular monitoring and assessment of vessels' fuel consumption data as well as any operational data indicating potential failure of engines and/or systems
  • Supporting the Emergency Response-Team in case of general averages/casualties/salvages 

Your profile:

  • Well organized and structured way of working
  • On shore and on board working experience with company managing third party vessels
  • Professional experience as chief engineer on board of ships
  • Track record of performed dry dockings
  • Experience in drafting and controlling budgets
  • Ideally experience on bulk vessels but not mandatory
  • Good communication skill in English language
  • Sound negotiation skills
