As our expert on international taxation, you will develop a deep understanding of our business and work in close cooperation with Oldendorff Carriers’ commercial and technical departments to analyze tax implications related to our global business activities and communicate those to senior management to support decision-making.

 In an era of rapid change, you will interpret and act on the fast-moving tax legislation to ensure tax compliance, monitor tax trends, proactively manage risks and help transform our Tax function, allowing it to perform at the next level. Your area of work includes both direct and indirect taxes abroad that are relevant for our company as well as the respective reporting requirements. For this, it is essential that you also gain a good overview of the tax situation of our group in Germany.

 Responsibilities:

  • You will advise our colleagues in the subsidiaries abroad on tax issues to ensure that they act in the best interests of the group and remain tax compliant
  • You will work in project teams with colleagues from various departments to plan our future business activities abroad, analyze tax implications and support decision making
  • You will support us in optimizing the group of companies’ structure
  • You will further develop, manage and coordinate our BEPS reporting
  • You will keep an eye on tax trends and changes to tax legislation (e.g. like recently DAC6)
  • You keep track of our transfer prices and are involved in their determination and documentation
  • You will prepare our guidelines for the calculation and documentation of transfer prices, which will be made available to the operative departments
  • In the course of your work, you will work a lot with colleagues in Germany and abroad and establish contacts with tax consultants in many different countries
  • You will support the introduction of digital technologies to streamline the processing of compliance and reporting requirements and ensure that we meet the legal requirements for digital reporting to the tax authorities
  • Regarding your field of work, you will be involved in our tax audits
  • Travel to the countries concerned may be necessary

Requirements:

  • Profound knowledge of German tax law
  • Good understanding of international taxation
  • Respective work experience in an international company
  • HGB accounting expertise, preferably with IFRS accounting knowledge
  • Structured and independent way of working
  • Good communication skills, oral and written
  • Fluency in English & German
  • Absolutely trustworthy person

Preferable:

  •  Experience in international maritime business
