Marine Purchaser & Supply Chain Manager (m/f)


Job Description

  • As Marine Purchaser & Supply Chain Manager you are part of our purchasing team which is responsible for the timely supply of provisions, stores, consumables and spare parts to all owned and managed vessels at the agreed quality and at the most competitive total cost
  • You monitor and process all requests made by our crew in our fleet management software BASSNet
  • As soon as our superintendents have approved the requisition in the system, you request and compare different offers and place orders accordingly with supplier(s) in coordination with the superintendent in charge
  • Furthermore, you organize the safe and timely delivery of purchased items to the vessels worldwide – as the case may be all the way from suppliers via our worldwide warehouses to final delivery aboard via barge or truck
  • You guarantee the smooth handling of all processes by keeping a pro-active and transparent communication with all stakeholders involved (e.g. captains and engineers on our vessels, superintendents, suppliers, forwarding- and shipping agents) In addition you handle the checking of incoming invoices prior to processing, and you assist  quality- and efficiency evaluation of our suppliers

Your Profile

  • Very good command of English (spoken and written)
  • You are an experienced user of Microsoft Office applications
  • You are well structured and work pro-actively on upcoming tasks
  • Ideally you gained some similar work experience in one of your previous jobs
  • A high level of diligence, strong organizational skills and working as a team player are needed for an effective performance As the ideal candidate, you support a good team spirit and describe yourself as a communicative and open-minded person bringing new ideas and continuous improvement in processes, negotiations, the use of BASSnet etc.
